A world where everyone can access the outdoors, feel confident in themselves, and have the power to shape their own wellbeing.
To connect people with green and blue spaces through inclusive outdoor experiences that improve wellbeing, build confidence, reduce isolation, and strengthen communities.
Roots of Resilience NW CIC was founded to help people and communities improve their wellbeing by connecting with the outdoors. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the physical, mental and social benefits that nature can offer, regardless of their background or previous experience.
We are passionate about making outdoor activities welcoming, inclusive and accessible. By creating opportunities to spend time in green and blue spaces, we help people build confidence, improve their wellbeing, develop new skills, and form meaningful connections with others. Whether someone is taking their first steps into outdoor activity or rediscovering a love of nature, we're here to support that journey.
Our activities encourage people to enjoy nature in ways that suit them. From gentle walks and Nordic walking sessions to paddlesports, nature-based wellbeing activities and opportunities to develop a deeper connection with the natural world, we create supportive experiences that help people become more active, feel more confident, and enjoy the outdoors safely.
A core part of our work is providing safe, enjoyable access to green and blue spaces, by teaching and promoting outdoor and water safety, we encourage everyone to be able to experience the benefits of time outside.
Our paddlesport sessions are designed to be relaxed, supportive and accessible, helping people build confidence on and around the water while improving their physical and mental wellbeing. Alongside this, our walking, Nordic walking and nature connectedness activities offer gentle, inclusive ways for people to experience the restorative benefits of spending time outdoors.
Beyond activities, we work alongside communities, volunteers and partner organisations to create lasting opportunities that benefit both people and the environment. From conservation projects and environmental volunteering to community-led outdoor initiatives, we believe healthier people and healthier places go hand in hand.
At Roots of Resilience, we don't just help people access the outdoors—we help people discover the confidence, resilience and sense of belonging that can grow from spending time in nature, and take charge of their own wellbeing journey.
We deliver inclusive outdoor activities that improve physical and mental wellbeing, helping people feel healthier, happier and more connected.
We provide safe, supportive canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding experiences that build confidence, develop skills and encourage lifelong participation.
Through guided walks, Nordic walking and nature connectedness activities, we help people slow down, explore their local environment and experience the wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature.
Our activities bring people together, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation while creating welcoming, supportive communities where everyone can belong.
We care for the places where we live, work and play. By involving communities in conservation, environmental volunteering and practical action, we help protect green and blue spaces for future generations.
